Our new Hawk of the Week is sophomore swimmer Karen Frazier.  Karen became just the second Miami individual athlete this academic year to win a MAC championship when she finished in first place in the 100 yard breaststroke at last week's MAC Championship meet.  Karen won her event with a time of 1:03.18, just .08 of a second off the pool record and .38 of a second faster than the second place finisher.  The victory is the second MAC championship of Karen's Miami career, as she was also the conference champion in the 100 yard breaststroke last season.  Also at the meet, Karen finished second in the conference in the 200 breaststroke and was part of Miami's second place 200 yard medley relay team.  For her efforts at the championships and all season long, Karen was named a first team all-MAC performer.

 

Congratulations to Karen on her conference title, on her wonderful sophomore season, and on being named our Hawk of the Week.
