Kathryn Stephens
Our new Hawk of the Week is senior swimmer Kathryn Stephens. In two meets last week (versus UC and Purdue) Kathryn won two individual events and participated in another Miami victory as part of a relay team.
In Miami's 152.5 to 86.5 victory over Cincinnati, Kathryn won her only race - the 200 freestyle - with a time of 1:55.87, almost two seconds faster than the second place finisher. Versus Purdue, Kathryn swam two individual races and picked up one of Miami's only two individual victories at the meet with a win in the 100 butterfly. Her time in this event, 57.52, is the eighth fastest time posted by a Mid Amercian conference swimmer this season. Kathryn also swam a leg for Miami's 200 freestyle relay team which won its race.
Miami's season continues this weekend with a dual meet at OU. The RedHawks have three more meets this season before competing at the Mid American championships at the end of February in Buffalo.
