Daniel Raudabaugh
Our new Hawk of the Week is sophomore football quarterback Daniel Raudabaugh. In his finest game of the season, Daniel went 20-26 (completion percentage of 77%) for 259 yards with two touchdown passes and no interceptions. His efforts helped Miami take control of the MAC East with a 31-28 victory over Buffalo. For the game, Daniel completed passes to seven different wide receivers, and had three pass completions of 40 yards or more (to three different receivers). These long completions led directly to 10 Miami points (one FG and a rushing TD), in addition to setting up another field goal attempt. The Miami offensive line also played a significant role in the passing attack, allowing no sacks and no quarterback pressures for the game.
For the season, Daniel is 143-257 (completion percentage of 56%) with 10 touchdowns and five interceptions, and avergaing 220 passing yards per game. In MAC play, he is 77-119 (completion percentage of 65%) with six touchdowns and two interceptions, and averaging almost 250 passing yards per game. Based on conference games only, Daniel is the fourth ranked quarterback in the MAC in terms of both passing yards per game and QB efficiency rating.
Miami football next takes the field a week from Wednesday in a nationally televised game against Akron. A victory versus Akron would allow Miami to go into the regular season finale versus OU with a chance to win the MAC East title and earn a trip to the MAC Championship game as well as a bowl appearance.
