Jaclyn Leininger
Our final Hawk of the Week for the fall semester is women's basketball forward Jaclyn Leininger. Jaclyn had consecutive double-doubles in Miami's last two games, a 84-74 victory over Michigan and Saturday's loss at Illinois State. Entering this season, the junior had one career double-double. Against Michigan, Jaclyn scored 22 points (on 9-14 shooting) and 11 rebounds. Against, Illinois State, Jaclyn had 18 points (on 8-11 shooting) and 14 rebounds - the 14 rebounds being a career high. In addition to the double-doubles, Jaclyn began the week with a 7 point and 7 rebound effort against Tulane. For the season, Jaclyn leads the team in rebounds with 73 (7.3 per game), while playing just over 22 minutes per game.
For the season, Miami's women's basketball team is 5-5, with three non-conference matchups remaining - including a visit to Temple next Sunday - before MAC play begins.
