Our new Hawk of the Week is women’s basketball player Amanda Jackson.  Amanda suffered a season ending knee injury versus Michigan in last year’s opener, and after surgery in January followed by many months of rehabilitation she returned to the court a year later and scored a game high 31 points in Miami’s season opening victory over Cleveland State.  In fact, Amanda’s 31 points were the most points scored by a Miami women’s basketball player in four years!  In addition to her scoring, Amanda also had six steals.  She followed up this effort with game highs in steals (6) and assists (7) in addition to 15 points in Miami’s last second loss to Robert Morris. 

Miami’s women’s basketball team returns to action on Friday when they host Northwestern, the first Big 10 women’s team to visit Millett since 1982.
