The Huskies return 90% of their production, led by their guard rotation of Mike DiNunno, Darion Anderson, and Michael Patton. Add in Colorado transfer Xavier Silas and freshman Tony Nixon and the Huskies will be difficult to guard on the perimeter. Up front, Sean Kowal gives NIU a low post threat at both ends of the floor that will take some of the pressure of the backcourt. Najul Ervin and Ante Dzepina are 2 blue-collar guys that will do the dirty work while Tyler Storm comes off the bench and provides instant offense. NIU must take better care of the ball and play better defense, they were the worst team in the MAC in defensive efficiency, 11th in turnovers, and 9th in assist/turnover ratio. But with the major contributors back, plus Silas and Nixon, this could be a promising year for the Huskies.
