Most Recent Story: MAC Championships Season Starts
The first of Miami's fall sports begins competition for Mid Amercian Conference championships this weekend, as men's and women's cross country compete in the conference championships and soccer begins play in the MAC Tournament.
Both the men's and women's cross country championships will take place in Ypsilanti, MI on Saturday, November 1st. Men's cross country has competed in five races this season, winning three. Most recently, the RedHawks particpated in the pre-NCAA Invitational, where they finished 16th in a field with many nationally ranked teams. The RedHawks are led by Pat Sovacool, who has won three individual races this season, and Kevin Silver who has three top-five finishes this season.
Women's cross country has competed in three team scoring events and has one victory and one third place finish. The women's team also competed at the pre-NCAA Invitational, where they finished 19th while competing without their top runner, Laura Neufarth. For the season, Laura has two top-five finishes, including one victory. Currently, the women are ranked sixth in the Great Lakes region, the highest rating of any MAC school.
