Most Recent Story: Pre-MAC Update
As many of Miami's team enter conference play, here is a brief summary of where the "ball-sports" stand.
- Field Hockey has had a very successful non-conference campaign. The RedHawks currently stand 6-2 (1-0 in the MAC), outscoring their opponents 27-12. Senior Elizabeth Gilroy is the team's leading scorer, with five goals and 13 points. Freshman Abbey Huck has started seven of Miami's eight games, and has a goals against average of 1.93. Miami next plays on September 27th versus Missouri State.
- Volleyball has been a streaky team thus far in 2008, with a six game winning streak followed up with a four game losing streak; the team's current record is 7-6 (1-0 in the MAC). The RedHawks won the UNLV tournament (including a win over then 10th ranked Wisconsin) earlier this season, and started MAC play with a win versus Bowling Green. They next play on September 27th at Western Michigan.
- Soccer has struggled thus far in 2008, with a record of 1-6-1 entering conference play. Most recently, the RedHawks went 0-1-1 on their California trip, losing to Sacramento State and tieing San Jose State.
