Most Recent Story: NCAA Tournament 1st Round: Oregon
Oregon is 26-7 and won the Pac-10 conference tournament in impressive fashion, defeating Arizona, Cal, and USC in which all of the games were basically in hand by halftime. Oregon went 11-7 in the Pac-10, splitting with UCLA and sweeping Washington St. among others. They also won at Georgetown earlier in the year, but I think it's fair to say the Georgetown of present day is a lot better than the Georgetown of November/December. This is Oregon's first NCAA tournament appearance since 2003 when they lost to Utah in the 1st round.
Starters
Tajuan Porter 5'6 160 Fr. 14 points, 2 assists, 42% FG, 44% 3PFG, 92% FT. Has jitterbug-like quicks. But he also has a quick release on his shot which allows him to get his shot up over taller defenders. He is a freshman still, which shows up in his assist/turnover ratio, it being less than 1.
Aaron Brooks 6' 165 Sr. 18 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, 46% FG, 41% 3PFG, 83% FT. Best all-around player on the team. He's quick, can handle the ball, can shoot the 3, and has a nice mid-range game. The jump in his numbers can be credited to better decision-making and... [Read the entire story]
