Most Recent Story: Miami's field of dreams almost ready
Today, while everybody is focused on their brackets—and how Gonzaga just screwed 90% of the people in the world by choking in the first round when by all rights they should be at least in the Sweet Sixteen—The Oxford Press’s Bob Ratterman is looking ahead to March 24 and Miami’s first home game on Stanley G. McKie Field at the Joseph P. Hayden Jr. Park.
His article from the Press is reprinted in today’s Journal-News, and while there will still be some rough edges to the field (the men’s room and some concession areas still need to be completed) the field is playable and the seats are sitable. And in the end, a consultant brought in to critique the stadium told Assistant AD Steve Cady that “this is one of the best (baseball) fields in the country”.
