Quote:
McCafferty is going to nearby Oxford, Ohio, and Miami University, while French is staying in-state, but heading north to Toledo.

"I liked their coaches a lot. Their coaches kind of have like a family. Everyone on the team is like a family," said French, who quarterbacked Eaton to an unbeaten regular season and a regional final appearance his junior year. "I liked that."

Family played a role in McCafferty's decision, too.

His father, John, graduated from Miami and played nose tackle there.

"I've always had strong feelings for Miami," McCafferty said. "They were the ones that talked to me first. They were the ones that talked to me the most."

The versatile McCafferty was all over the field for the Eagles and was the SWBL Receiver of the Year.

He expects to play strong safety in college, but isn't ruling out the possibility of some offensive minutes, too.

"The fact that me and Cole are both D-I, both in the same conference, is kind of a blessing," McCafferty said. "He kind of gives me a goal to strive further on. I hope someday that we can play against each other, because he's a really good quarterback and I'd really love to play against him."

...McCafferty made 62 catches for 910 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2011 as Eaton finished 8-2. He also made 89 tackles and returned two punts for scores.

Didn't he and his band have a Top 10 hit back in the 80s?

Just watching the film how did he not have offers? Watching the film he is pretty impressive both sides of the ball. I cant decide if I like him better as a slot WR or a safety. Decent sixe at 5'11" 180 and 4.49 forty time. I like what I see!

John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band had 4(!) top 10 "mainstream rock" hits, including 2 number 1s (4 top 40s overall). Those facts tell you a lot about the music of the 80's.

TD was a walk-on so there's no doubt he'll get a shot.
