Alright. Let's just say that the Penn State job is now open.

Urban Meyer? ( I see Ohio State being dumb and keeping Fickell)

Why would anyone want this job now? This program just died. Urban is not coming back to clean up this mess.

Some loser like Schiano will probably take it.

The program didn't die. There are no NCAA sanctions, nothing tied to players. This has already been attributed to the actions of at the top...none of them will be here for the new head coach. New Prez, New AD, New Coach....New Attitude and Opportunities.

Agree to disagree. They will always be known as "Pederast State" now. They are NEVER going to get over that.

To those that don't like the program, I suppose. Parents will still want to send their sons to play in Happy Valley. Kids will still want to attend the university. In 5 years, we'll talk about Coach X who turned restored the shine to the program.

Ron Zook has been fired as of today at Illinois, and UCLA may $hit can Rick Neuheisel after the Pac-12 championship game. Also, the Arizona State and Washington State jobs may be open in the next day or 2. U.C. may very well lose Butch Jones to the Illini since Mike Thomas, the AD who hired him at U.C., is the new AD at Illinois. Of course Butchy's agent could just use these job openings as leverage to squeeze U.C. for more cash.

Memphis Coach Larry Porter - who was AHC under Miles at LSU - just got fired.

Porter was a Memphis alum.

Maybe Zooker can come to Miami to recruit.

I think Zook could be a solid MAC coach. The man can recruit. If he could create a talent disparity with exceptional recruiting, his lacking game management skills wouldn't be so glaring as it was in the Big10/11/12

Fired 2 years into a 5 year contract worth @ $10 million. I don't think we'll see Turner on the roadside picking up pop cans to get money for the house payment!!

He may decide to retire from coaching and focus on his bar & grille/Keno parlor in the thriving metropolis of McGonigle. Wink

And U of Alabama-Birmingham fired John Doe (or whatever his name is) today. Sad to say, but right now UAB might be a more attractive than Penn State!!!!

He should have known better than to go to Kansas. He was a hot name, he could have waited for a better job.

I have no idea why he goes back to being a head coach in a cold weather state.

Hey KU looked at it as a cost saving measure. This way they can just give Weis all of Mangino's old apparel.

KU may never win a BCS title but the football program has forever clinched the Heavyweight championship. For the rest of time, records books will show Turner Gill was literally sandwiched between Mangino and Weis. Ouch.

Wise move to stay at SMU. Don't they have 10 donors paying his $2 million a year? I'm sure he can booster his salary by looking.

June Jones didn't "stay" at SMU so much as ASU's AD announced his hire, then immediately cut bait when influential boosters raised holy hell. He's a long way from the most popular person in Dallas right now -- his hire (and unhire) was announced a day after he said he would be staying at SMU for the long term.
