Isn't there some rule about the university owning a stadium and selling alcohol? Perhaps this is the first step to allowing beer sales. _________________ Beanie: Well why don't you give me your number in case anything happens to my wife.

Looks like it's on 73, east of town.

Keep in mind that if the city does annex Yager, the university still owns the real estate and the stadium itself. Virtually all of the campus is in the city of Oxford. In fact, I recall when I was a student, the city annexed the land that included the physical facilities building out by the stables...anyway, it just means that the city can tax the property the same they do with everything else.
One benefit could be that the city will help with infrastructure issues around the stadium in the future. When the endzone building and other enhancements happen with the facility, the city may be able to get things done that the township couldn't. Some time back, I think I read on here that the university applied for zoning to allow for another access road into the facility from the other side...not sure though... |

The day that Miami allows beer sales at its sporting events (outside of private parties) is the day of the apocalypse.
In other words, it isn't happening anytime soon. |

That will be one rowdy home basketball game. _________________ "We will shoot for perfection... but nobody's perfect. But we'll shoot for perfection and we'll settle for excellence."

There is no NCAA rule that prohibits beer sales
Miami makes their internal policy on that one |

BGSU was selling beer in the Doyt when Miami out-fogged them this year. Beer was also sold at the MACC.
In fact, Miami is undefeated when JohnnyMac buys a beer inside the stadium at one of the games. _________________ And the days that I keep my gratitude higher than my expectations

| Why would the city want to annex the bar? Isn't it already within the city limits? |

The Stadium this thread is Yager Stadium. Not The Stadium. |

| Are you sure? With all the discussion of beer in this thread, I'm pretty sure they are talking about the bar. Otherwise, I'm sure the thread title would have mentioned Yager. |
