2012 SF Matt Van Scyoc continues to see his stock improve with each passing week as the athletic rising junior talent from Green Lake High School in Wisconsin collected offers from North Dakota and West Point this weekend. Van Scyoc is one of the top 2012 prospects in the state of Wisconsin and arguably one of the top sleepers in the region.
At 6-7 Van Scyoc has excellent length and size and he combines that with nice strength, good instincts, a nice stroke with range that extends beyond the arc, and excellent athleticism and leaping ability. As 2012 prospects go in the Badger state Van Scyoc is on the cusp of really taking off both regionally and nationally and he is a bona fide Division 1 prospect who stands to collect mid and high major interest before it's all said and done.
Van Scyoc plays with the Randolph Boys Club program during the grassroots travel season. |

Green Lake junior Matt Van Scyoc has received a NCAA Division I scholarship offer from Miami, a member of the Mid-American Conference.
Van Scyoc, an ever-improving 6-foot-7 wing forward, took an unofficial visit to Miami a few weeks ago and recently worked out for coaches from the school in Green Lake. He received the scholarship offer earlier today.
Ranked No. 12 among state prospects in the class of 2012 by WisSports.net, Van Scyoc had earlier received Division I scholarship offers from both Army and North Dakota.
Van Scyoc earned first-team all-conference honors in the Northern Division of the Trailways Conference as a sophomore while helping Green Lake to a 24-3 record and the league championship.
He scored 16 points in the Lakers’ 56-52 loss to Green Bay NEW Lutheran in a WIAA Division 4 sectional final last March.
A two-year varsity starter for coach Dennis Brooks at Green Lake, Van Scyoc scored a career-high 33 points in a victory over Oakfield last season. He averaged 14.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game on the season and is joins senior Curtis Morgan (5-10) as a returning starter for Green Lake.
An athletic combination forward who is solid in most aspects of the game, Van Scyoc scores well facing the basket, off the dribble and on the blocks.
He competed for the Randolph Boys Club 16U squad on the travel-team circuit last season. |
