Just to add to the Oxford trivia fun, can anyone remember the first business housed in the Balcony/Ozzie's building? How about the 2nd?

Wasn't that the site of the incredible Jerry's Restaurant?

+1966.

Correct! Now can you tell me what came after Jerry's? I used to LOVE going to this place (although my folks weren't nearly as enthusiastic!).

Played pool once in 1967-68 in an establishment upstairs from Jerry's Restuarant. Don't remember the name of the place though..... Shocked

Updates as of Thursday night August 5:

Pita Pit closed for good Saturday night July 31

The left side of the Shillito's/Rikes/Lazarus/Macy's building has a new bar inside - no sign outside, but I could see a newly constructed bar inside.

The bar "The Underground" next to Wild Berry had its water shut off today, so I think "The Underground" may be 6 feet under.

Someone and his wife obviously took a self-guided tour of the uptown Oxford streets during halftime of the Thursday night concert on the green tonight.
Any sign of progress on the brew pub/bookstore/coffeehouse that's supposed to fill the first floor of The Lofts where Church Street Station used to be Question

The brew pub/bookstore/coffeehouse is only about 1/2 finished.
There is several skids of drywall stacked up inside. If they want to be open by the start of school, it is going to take a monumental effort.

Update:
The Ozzie's/High Street Grille/Balcony "pile of rubble" has been removed and is now the Ozzie's/High Street Grille/Balcony big hole in the ground.

I bet it looks every bit as good as the Bruno's/Subway/Baskin Robbins big hole in the ground in '96! Very Happy

Hard to compare.
As far as I'm concerned, a hole is a hole is a hole. Embarassed

I read this incorrectly, and thought you were talking about "a-holes."
