We were also threatened against using the innuendo cheers. One wonders if UM students received a similar complaint over "Ref You Suck" Laughing

I think the sign would have been better if it just said "Fail" in big bold letters

I'm ready for Boston (of Massachusetts) College. Muse has allowed 14 goals in his last 3 games. Granted, that offense is rolling right now, but they lost a top blueliner and aren't playing well defensively at all. With our D in front of Knapp, we have the advantage.

Loved that sign. Whoever made that sign if you are on this board come forward and receive your praise.

We were sitting right behind that sign and it was awesome! I got so sick of hearing that song over and over and over again. So glad our band can actually play more than one song! Smile

Great game!!!!

Holy eff.

One of the best hockey games I've ever seen...Rico, Miami's fans and everyone else involved in the program should be incredibly proud.

The PK was incredible, the defense was amazing, the forwards were excellent and Knapp was all-worldly.

What an incredible night.

I do enjoy the fact that I can say, "That was one of the best hockey games I've ever seen" without simultaneously wanting to throw my television out the window.

Not so sure about the defense at times, but I get where you are coming from.

I'm assuming you mean the 5 of us in the corner with the Miami across our chests? Because that was me and some friends. Roommate was the one with the sign mostly.
We were told that we couldn't hold up that sign and be on TV by the way. It was deemed "too negative."

Well you guys were all over the TV broadcast. Nice work.

I was feeling bad too, but I feel better now that even a more indepth explantion to me was that once the delayed pentalty was called, the play goes dead anyway once Knapp touches the puck, so it shouldn't have counted anyway if the whistle didn't blow right there, but who knows how it would have been called otherwise.

I was thinking that last night. Sure is nice to be on the plus side of one of these classics. Nothing beats an OT winner.

Same here. I was drifting in and out of the room when it happened, doing dishes and helping tend to a fussy baby, but I don't recall the announcers ever bringing up the delayed penalty when this was going on. This morning when I read about it, I was satisfied that the right call was made.

The moment when I decided that Miami was going to win it, was the shorthanded possession where Wingels and Miele took it into the Michigan zone and made repeated attempts at the net. Not just a counter attack rush, but a sustained attack, a man down. Both incredible and ballsy. I decided at that point, our swagger was up to the task of taking this one.

I looked up during the first overtime and the clock read 18:09. I knew then the game was ours.

Also - someone on the USCHO board mentioned the "OT Rule" - the one where one team is dominating in the OT (shots, physicality, puck possession, etc...) and the other scores on a quick/flukey goal (e.g. 2009 National Championship, 2008 East Regional Finals Boston (of Massachusetts) College v. MU). The entire OT, no matter how scary it got, I always knew we would pull it out...

perhaps they didn't know? but, then again, at least one of them was a Michigan grad. not surprisingly, i thought their slant was clearly Michigan, but it doesn't bother me now!

From their discussions, I thought both were Michigan alums...

Butler gets to go back to Indy and play in the Final Four, but they were going back to Indy either way.

I'm glad we were able to send the Wolverines back to Michigan without the chance to play in the Frozen Four. Good stuff.

Their discussions? I took that away from the play by play guys near coronaries ever time Michigan had a legit chance much less scored. It was almost funny.

I remember a similar play like that last year in the CCHA second round we hosted versus Northern Michigan. NMU was getting called for a delayed penalty, the puck was open in our defensive end and their guy slapped it into the goal- I think it was either late in the game or in OT because I remember everyone thinking we had lost. It was kind of confusing.

I didn't see the penalty watching live, but on the replays Kampfer clearly got donked on the head. It didn't look intentional or even that hard, just a guy bringing his stick down, but he got the helmet- a call you have to make. It was probably the right call about the possession touch, even though my Michigan buddy texted me that we got away with one there, that puck was under Knapp for a good second or so.

That PBP was unintentionally hilarious at times. Seemingly every single time a puck was within 15 feet of a net, the guy would start screaming like a crazy man, even if he had simply been in the middle of telling an random anecdote.
