He has been held out of the last 4 Monarchs games...

Because he had to go play in the Vlad U18 tourney for Team USA with our friend Tyler Biggs.

He had an assist in the 4-3 exhibition loss to Slovakia.

2 PIMs (Slash) in the 5-2 loss to Switzerland.

1 goal and 2 assists against Germany in a 6-5 shootout loss.

1 goal in a 5-3 loss to Slovakia.

Alex Gacek led the U.S. with four points (2-2) in the tournament

Nah, he's still 16. Thats what makes his numbers even more impressive. He was drafted by the Indiana Ice in the futures so I'd expect to see him playing there next year, probably pairing up with Wideman for a season and coming in fall of '11.

We aren't losing much next season, only 4 seniors, 2 of which have played regularly, and one of those being a 4th liner. So not much room, but when we lose our Junior class there will be plenty of spots.

Its playoff time in the EJHL.

2 games played. 1-0--1. 1 PPG.

The Monarchs were the top team in the league (5th year in a row), swept their first round opponent, and now they face the Junior Bruins (Knapp's old team). The Monarchs were 3-1 in four games against Boston this season.

They won their league tourney. Went to play in the Tier 3-A nationals, advanced from their pool, lost in semis 3-2 to the St Louis Jr Blues. The Blues went on to win the final.

Gacek had 2-2--4 in the 4 games.

Gacek (pronounced GAY-sick, by the way) was scratched on Sunday, much to my dismay. I heard it's a minor cramping issue. Nothing at all serious.

Still no games played.

For a kid that absolutely dominated the EJHL at such a young age, was hoping he'd be able to put up some points this season. Anyone know why he hasn't dressed yet? Injured? Or just adjusting to the better play of the USHL?

Sounds like an injury...

"Alexander Kuqali came off the IR to play in both games over the weekend and forward Alex Gacek is expected back sometime in mid-November."

Eh. Once Coach took off this pipeline would start drying up. Now we don't have a junior team that will necessarily look out to draft our commits when given the chance. Hopefully he can find some more playing time up there.

Looks like he's 0-2-2 in five games with Y'town and 0-3-3 total.

At least he's playing. I'm going to see him play in Indianapolis on Friday, so I'll let you guys know how he looks.

Saw his game at Indy on New Year's Eve.

Kid has great speed and lots of raw talent, but he didn't see the ice much. I'm guessing he'll be pushed back to 2012-13.

Report on him and the three Indy guys from 12/31 here.
