Spring and summer have come and gone faster than Usain Bolt or should we say Tyson Gay, and with that the AAU season has come to a close. Today, we take a look at where some of the Buckeye state’s top talents are getting offers and interest. Furthermore, we will update you on all of the commitments.
August, at times, seems like the busiest month to be involved with basketball recruiting thanks to the domino effect. On July 31st, Kenny Kaminski committed to Michigan State followed by four more Ohio Prospects committing in a four-day span.
Today, we take a look at where some of the Buckeye state’s top talents are getting offers and interest. Furthermore, we will update you on all of the commitments.
2011 Recruiting News:
Trey Burke (6'0/2011) of Columbus Northland has listed Cincinnati, Michigan, Iowa, and Penn State has his favorites.
Michigan, Miami (FL), and Virginia are starting to make a move as well.
Burke's father, who is All-Ohio Red's head coach, says he is big on Cincinnati, Penn State, and Michigan.
Burke added offers from Miami (FL), Providence, Iowa, Nebraska, UTEP, Oklahoma State, Temple, and St. Joseph's in the last couple days.
Burke's father said no date has been set on when they will make a decision.
Nate Anderson (6'9/2011) of Teays Valley added offers from Toledo, Navy, Air Force, St. Francis (PA), Wright State and Florida International to go along with James Madison, UNC-Wilmington, and Gardner-Webb. He is also receiving high interest from Boston (of Massachusetts) College and Texas Christian.
George Fant (6'7/2011) of Warren Central (KY) added offers from Arkansas, Boston (of Massachusetts) College, Penn State, Clemson, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, UTEP, Bowling Green, and Florida International. He is also receiving new interest from Cincinnati and Mississippi.
Jehvon Clarke (6'1/2011) of Canton Timken says he has offers from Toledo, St.Bonaventure, James Madison, Creighton, Wright State, Akron, and Kent State.
At this point, he doesn't have a favorite.
Clarke believes his Timken Trojans should be right back in the mix this season.
"Yeah, we should be pretty," Clarke admitted.
He will join fellow seniors and returnees Rakim Reed, Chase Polk, and Demond Rorie.
Clarke averaged 15.7 points per game as a junior earning him 3rd Team All-Northeast Inland District honors. He also helped his Ohio Basketball Club U17 team to the King James Shooting Stars Classic title in April and several other high finishes.
Aaron White (6'8/2011) of Strongsville has offers from Iowa, Boston (of Massachusetts) College, George Mason, Temple, Siena, Akron, Ohio University, Duquesne, Miami (OH), Bowling Green, Toledo, Northeastern, Mount St.Mary's, Wright State, George Washington, St.Bonaventure, and James Madison.
Aaron Thomas (6'4/2011) of Cincinnati Aiken has plenty of interest. Thomas is arguably one of the two best prospects in Ohio alongside Jakarr Sampson.
Thomas is getting interest from Clemson, Purdue, Duquesne, Iowa, Cincinnati, Ohio State, Louisville, Nebraska, UTEP, Florida State, Georgia, and Arkansas.
At this point, Thomas is wide open listing nary a favorite.
Jakarr Sampson (6’8/2011) of Akron SVSM listed his favorites as St. John’s, Baylor, Kansas, Louisville, and Michigan State. Sampson is currently the top prospect in Ohio.
Markus Crider (6’6/2011) of Huber Heights Wayne has an offer from Toledo and still getting interest from Depaul. (Grades are an issue).

Jalen Ragland (6'5/2011) of Chillicothe has listed offers from UTEP, Wright State, Tulane, Marshall, Ohio University, Kent State, Eastern Kentucky, Chattanooga, Bowling Green, Miami (OH), IUPUI, Morehead State, and Mercer.
Ragland enjoyed a very good summer with the Queen City Prophets, which included defeating All-Ohio Red in the AAU State Championship game.
Cole Krizancic (5'11/2011) of Mentor has an offer from Navy along with one from Walsh University. He is also getting interest from Toledo, Bucknell, Dartmouth, Cornell, Miami (OH), and the US Military Academy.

Scott had a very good summer playing for the West Virginia Wildcats Select 2012. He is really starting to impact game on the offensive end of the floor.
Ke'Chaun Lewis (6'4/2012) of Columbus Northland has offers from Marshall Akron, and James Madison.
Dylan Kaufman (6'4/2012) of Berlin Hiland has offers from Akron, Miami (OH), Toledo, Ohio University, and Albany.
Butler has also shown a lot of interest.

With the 2010-11 boys basketball season set to tip off we announce our 2010-11 Preseason All-QueenCityHigh.com Team, recognizing the best the Tri-state area has to offer:
FIRST TEAM
Alex Barlow, Moeller, G: The junior was the GCL South Defensive Player of the Year. He had three or more steals 15 times. His play garnered Division
Alex Barlow is a great all-around player for the Crusaders.
I Honorable Mention All-Southwest District recognition. He averaged 7.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.0 steals in 2009-10.
Jared Bryant, Roger Bacon, 6-8, Sr., F/C: When it comes to being efficient around the basket Bryant has it figured out. He shot 66.5 percent from the floor and compiled impressive numbers all the way around (12.8 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 2.1 BPG, 1.6 SPG) and had seven double-doubles. That earned the Spartan First Team All-GCL Central and Division II Honorable Mention All-Southwest District honors as a junior.
Charlie Byers, Moeller, G: Byers led the state runner-ups in scoring as a junior as he put up 12.2 points per game while scoring in double figures 19 times. His efforts earned him Division I Third Team All-Southwest District and First-Team All-GCL South honors. He has 507 career points.
Ryan Fleming, La Salle, SG/SF: The junior guard was Division I Third Team All-Southwest District and First Team All-GCL South. He averaged 10.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists. Fleming goes into his senior year with 454 career points and 247 rebounds. The Lancer has signed with Division II Northern Kentucky University.
Jake Giesler, Newport Central Catholic, 6-7, Sr., C: Giesler averaged 12.5 points, 7.5 rebounds while shooting 60 percent from the field as a junior. He is regarded as the top player in Kentucky's Ninth Region and is being looked at by several MAC schools.
Brandon Neel, La Salle, 6-4, Sr., F: Neel racked up all kinds of honors as a junior. He was the GCL South Player of the Year, Division I First Team All-Southwest District and Division I Third Team All-Ohio member after averaging 14.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists for the Lancers. He goes into his senior year with 676 points just 324 away from becoming the sixth player in LaSalle history to eclipse 1,000.
Kellen Smith, Scott, 6-1, Sr., G: Smith, a four-year starter, is one of the more versatile guards in Northern Kentucky. He averaged 13 points and seven assists per game. The senior signed with Division II Saginaw Valley State before the season started.
Aaron Thomas, Withrow, 6-5, Sr., F: The transfer was the CMAC Player of the Year as a junior for Aiken after averaging 21.4 PPG and 7.3 RPG. The scoring machine had four games of 30 or more points, 12 of more than 20 and he never scored less than 13 in a contest. That earned him Division I Second Team All-Southwest District and Division I Honorable Mention All-Ohio honors. Thomas, a Rivals' four-Star recruit, signed with Florida State.
Adolphus Washington, Taft, 6-4, 230, F: The sophomore was honored as a Division III First Team member, as the the Southwest District Player of the Year and a First Team All-CMAC member after leading the Senators to a 21-3 record and an appearance in the Regionals. Washington is a proven winner having been an integral part of a Roger Bacon team that went 20-4 as a freshman before transferring to Taft. He has over 700 points and 400 rebounds in his career.
Devin Williams, Withrow, 6-7, So., F/C: Williams had no problems adjusting to varsity basketball as a freshman in 2009-10 averaging a double-double as a freshman with 11.5 PPG and 10.5 RPG. The Tiger forward had 12 or more rebounds 10 times. He has already received an offer from Xavier.
SECOND TEAM
Jalen Billups, Shroder, 6-6, Sr., PF: He was thrown to the wolves as a freshman having to go against big men like Yancey Gates and Chane Behannan in league play, but Billups has proven to be more than a worthy adversary in CMAC play. He has shot over 60 percent from the floor and averaged 15 points while earning Second Team All-CMAC honors the past two seasons.
Monty Boykins, Lakota West, 6-1, So., G: Boyksin started six of the Firebirds last seven games as a freshman in 2009-10 and averaged 4.7 PPG. He received his first scholarship offer this fall from offer from Miami (OH).
Paul Byrd, Roger Bacon, 6-1, Sr., PG: The wispy Byrd is one of the smoothest floor generals in Cincinnati. He averaged 10.4 PPG, 3.4 APG and 3 RPG on his way to first team All-GCL Central honors.
Melvin Hunter, Northwest, 6-3, Sr., F: Hunter is perhaps the most underrated and unheralded athlete in Cincinnati. The FAVC Scarlet Athlete of the Year and Division I Honorable Mention All-Southwest District member did it on both ends of the floor last season. He finished the season strong with seven double-doubles in his last nine games and averaged 15.2 PPG and 9.2 RPG as a junior.
Jake Thelen, Covington Catholic, C: Thelen makes his living in the paint and is very adept at finishing around the basket. He averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds per game as a junior for Colonels.
THIRD TEAM
Semaj Christon, Winton Woods, 6-2, Sr., PG: Christon was a First Team All-FAVC performer after averaging 5.3 PPG, 3.1 RPG and 6.4 APG as a junior. The Warrior is a pure passer and has 156 assists in 30 varsity games.
Phillip Cook, Lakota West, 6-3, Sr., F: The versatile forward earned Second Team All-GMC and Division I Honorable Mention All-Southwest District honors after shooting 55 percent from the field, averaging 13.1 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 1.7 APG, 1.5 SPG and 1.5 BPG as a junior.
Tyler Hodge, Conner, 6-8, Sr., C: Hodge continues to get better with age and game experience. He is one of the top shot blockers in the area. The Cougars will look to him even more as a scoring threat in 2010-11.
Tony Davis, Wyoming, 6-5, Sr., F/C: No one had more of an impact inside the paint in CHL play than Davis did in 2009-10. The power forward averaged 15.4 PPG, 12.3 RPG and shot 54.5% from the field as a junior. He had 16 double-doubles, 19 games with at least 10 boards and 10 games with at least 18 points on his way to First Team All-CHL and Division II Honorable Mention All-Southwest District honors.
Alex McGlothin, Walnut Hills, Sr., G/F: The versatile swingman has earned three letters by doing yeoman's work for the Eagles. A Division I Honorable Mention All-Southwest District member as a junior, McGlothin has over 500 points, 200 rebounds, 100 and is nearing 100 steals for his career.
FOURTH TEAM
Brent Langhorne, Fenwick, 5-7, Sr., PG: Was a First Team All-GCL North, Division II Second Team All-Southwest District an Honorable Mention All-Ohio performer as a junior after averaging 11.9 PPG and 5.2 APG. Langhorne has 448 points and 224 assists in his career.
Joe Thunney, Alter, 6-5, Sr., C: Thunney is a "glass cleaner" for the Knights. He dominated the boards as a junior averaging 11.6 RPG and pulling down 10 or more rebounds 26 times. On offense he averaged seven points per game, shot 53 percent from the floor and had five double-double's which helped him to First Team All-GCL North and Division II Honorable Mention All-Southwest District honors.
Matt Woeste, LaSalle, 6-1, Sr., G: One of the most consistent all-around players in the Tri-State. Woeste rarely makes mistakes and finds himself successfully in the middle of action more often than not. He was a Division I Honorable Mention All-Southwest District member in 2009-10.
Darin Harris, Mason, 6-6, Jr., F: The silky smooth forward scored in double figures in 12 of the Comets' last 15 games to end out his sophomore campaign. His showing made him the youngest member on the First Team All-GMC team.
Bobby Stauffer, Ryle, 6-7, Sr. C: The Raiders' center earned much respect by battling the best in Northern Kentucky and usually outdueling them late last season. Stauffer will play a major role for the Ryle offensive attack down in the paint.

Tuesday Preview:
Semaj Christon can really turn some heads
if he can help lead WW to a victory Tuesday.
Several intriguing games including one must-see event highlight Tuesday's schedule:

LaSalle @ Winton Woods: One of the most exciting non-conference games of the season, this will be a playoff like battle. With Brandon Neel, Josh Lemmons, Semaj Chrison, and more there is no shortage of star power either. Winton Woods seemed destined to meet up with LaSalle in the playoffs last year but fell short (blowing a big lead against St. Xavier), then lost a lot of talent to graduation. So far this year they have proven the doubters wrong however; Seniors Semaj Christon, Dion Dearmond, and Dennis Thomas have all been awesome this year for Winton Woods. For LaSalle it's mostly the same team as last year: tons of talent, experience, and a group that plays really well together. This one should be exciting and a high scoring, up-tempo affair.

Prediction: Winton Woods is good enough to compete but not good enough to win. LaSalle looks like the top team in the city (along with Moeller), they should win this one.

Thursday Results:

Dwyer (FL) 53 LaSalle 50: Lancers take their first loss of the season in the championship game at the Kingdom of the Sun Tournament. Dwyer, a top 25 team nationally, is ranked #1 in the state of Florida and has several D1 commitments on their team. Brandon Neel, the star senior guard for LaSalle, again led them in scoring but it wasn't quite enough. Neel did make the all-tournament team.

Taft 55 St. John's College (DC) 44: Senators take the championship at The Piggly Wiggly Roundball Classic in Charleston. Taft, who is still undefeated, beats a St. Johns team that is known for producing D1 talent year in year out. Junior power forward Dwayne Stanford was named the tournament's most valuable player and junior center Adolphus Washington won the most outstanding player award. Jalean Lowe, a junior sharpshooting small forward, also made the all tournament team for Taft.

Jeffersontown (KY) 86 Middletown 63: In the championship game at Gaslight Holiday Classic the Middies just didn't have enough firepower to compete with nationally top 25 ranked J'town. Jeffersontown is led by Louisville signee Zac Price a 6-10 center (who transferred out of Cleveland this year). Sounds like there might have been a little bit of home-cooking from the officials tonight but never the less Middletown takes the loss. Geovonie McKnight again led the Middies in scoring, the junior guard is really starting to stuff the stat sheet.

Lakota West 70 Hughes 54: It was all West in the consolation game of the Hughes Holiday Classic. Sophomore shooting guard Monty Boykins had another nice night for West, Monty is starting to gain confidence as the leading scorer of that team; other GMC coaches better take notice.

the Middies at their tourney.

Middletown 73 North Oldham (KY) 48: Game two of the Gaslight Holiday Tournament in Kentucky went a little more smoothly for The Middies as they cruised. Geovonie McKnight, freshman forward Vince Edwards, and Mikey Brown all scored at least 15 points. Edwards is another freshman in the area to keep an eye on right now.

LaSalle 46 vs University School (FL) 44: LaSalle advanced to the championship at the Kingdom of the Sun Tournament in Florida, winning their first close game of the year. Josh Lemmons led LaSalle with 20 points and Brandon Neel added a dozen.

Columbus Desales 62 Lakota West 46: Cincinnati struggled in the opener of The Hughes Holiday Classic. It was one of those nights for Lakota West as they struggled against DeSales pressure and depth. The lone bright spot was the play of Monty Boykins. Monty, a sophomore guard, connected on a few jumpers and was better attacking the rim then he been in the past, he finished with 15 points.

Moeller 64 Sunnyslope (AZ) 40: Moeller improved to 2-0 at the VisitMesa.com Challenge in Arizona. After a non-Moeller like defensive first half in which the game was tied 33-33 Moeller came out and dominated the second half with full court pressure, winning the half 31-7 for a 24 point victory. Moeller wore down Sunnyslope with their depth, playing 11 guys significant minutes. Alex Barlow led Moeller with 10 points, he also had 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Charlie Byers and Ben Galemmo each scored 9 points for Moeller. Junior post Tony Sabato got involved inside for the Crusaders, Tony scored 9 points and grabbed 7 boards. Moeller also got contributions from reserves Hayden Fry, Josh Davenport, and Keith Watkins who all scored two buckets and provided defensive pressure.
LaSalle 70 Leesburg (FL) 51: LaSalle remained undefeated and won their second game at The Kingdom of the Sun Tournament in Florida. Trey Casey helped lead LaSalle into the semi's with 19 points. Brandon Neel and Ryan Fleming each scored 14 for LaSalle.

Middletown 57 Bryan Station (KY) 54: Middletown got the overtime win in their opener at The Gaslight Holiday Classic in Kentucky. Geovonie McKnight hit a three at the buzzer to send it to overtime and Middletown never looked back. McKnight had a big night for the Middies finishing with 24 points.

Moeller 62 Dobson (AZ) 41: Comfortable win for Moeller in their first game at The VistaMesa.com Challenge in Arizona. Was able to catch this game online and to describe it in two words the game was: typical Moeller. They jumped out to a ten point lead, held it through three quarters, and took advantage of a worn down opponent to bust the game wide open. Ben Galemmo played the best game that I've seen him play at Moeller, he scored 17 points (hitting 5 threes) and made several nice passes for layups. Charlie Byers was next in scoring for Moeller with 11 points, Chuck was able to get the better of Dobson star Malcom McKinley holding him to just 9 points (about 10 below his average). Junior wing Alex Voss was also effective for Moeller, Voss is another weapon for the Crusaders who can shoot or take his man off the dribble, and is also a passing and defensive threat. LaSalle 61 Tampa Prep 28: The Lancers dominated their first game in The Kingdom of the Sun Tournament in Ocala, Florida. Brandon Neel led the way with 14 points and Josh Lemmons was next with 12. LaSalle also got 8 points from both Matt Woeste and Ryan Fleming. This was a convincing win for LaSalle over one of Florida's top programs (Tampa Prep made the 2A state semi-final and only lost three games last year). LaSalle will play again tomorrow.

Withrow 80 East Grand Rapids 70: Aaron Thomas and Devin Williams had their second consecutive big nights with 23 points a piece as Withrow moved to 2-0 at Detroit's Motorcity Roundball Classic. Junior forward Kendall Beamon also added 10 points for Withrow. Withrow plays their final game of the classic tomorrow afternoon at 4 PM against Detroit Renaissance.

Lakota East @ Huber Heights Wayne: Two of SW Ohio's finest meet up in the Dayton suburbs for this playoff like match-up. Wayne features two high major players in Michigan State signee Travis Trice, the 6-0 SR PG is the son of the coach and a great shooter; and Marcus Crider a 6-6 SR SF who has signed with Providence. Crider is a great athlete that can put points up on the board. While East might not have two players as talented as Trice and Crider they do have a team loaded with senior talent. Expect Mike Boyd, Jalen Goodwin, Cameron Lee, RJ Leppert, and the rest of the team to come out ready to play. The key to this game for Lakota East might be the production of Mark Minch. Minch, who likely will guard Crider, will be counted on to put pressure on Wayne's defense and to match Wayne's superior athleticism.

Withrow 82 Detroit Pershing 73
A great start to Detroit's finest event for Withrow as they defeated Detroit Pershing by nine. Seems like this one was a game of star performances. Aaron Thomas, Cincinnati's top player, led the way with 30 points and 10 rebounds. Aaron shot 10-16 from the field, an efficiency that is tough to achieve in HS, and hit 7-10 from the line. Devin Williams was next for Withrow; the 6-7 sophomore PF scored 19 points and grabbed 13 big rebounds. Devin shot 8-10 from the field and 3-5 from the line. Also for Withrow, Carl Porter scored 12 points and had 8 rebounds, and Kevin Jones added 9 points. Withrow's big four really came through this game when they were needed most.
For Detroit Pershing, sophomore SG Martez Walker (a top 100 nationally ranked player) scored 29 points and his older brother, point guard Sherron Walker (ranked as one of Michigan's top 5 juniors) added 24.
Withrow plays tomorrow at 9pm vs East Grand Rapids HS- Check in tomorrow night for a report from this game, as well as updates from Moeller and LaSalle's out of town tournament games.

Thurgood Marshall 72 Hughes 39: The Big Red took another loss in a tough season, Terry Cook led them with a 13 points in the loss.
Lawrence Central (IN) 62 Aiken 55: Willy Moore scored 26 points (for the second game in a row) and grabbed 10 rebounds but it wasn't enough as Aiken lost their third game in four tries. Austin Grimes had a double-double with 12 points 10 boards, freshman PG Tyonte Robertson had his best statistical game with 15 points and 7 assists, and Landen Gaulden scored 10 for Aiken.

The First Day of the Annual Dayton Flyin’ To The Hoop showcased One of the top players in the country and numerous 2012 future stars of tomorrow. Out of the 7 games, a couple actually were closer than what they seemed on paper, but the talent level was high and the momentum in Trent Arena is building for a solid Sunday.
Chillicothe (OH) 68 Springfield (OH) 52
Chillicothe would have 3 members dip into the double figures scoring column, lead by Senior, Jalen Ragland’s 20 points. Ragland would slowly take over in the second half extending the defense on the edges with his outside shot. Ragland is taking his services to UTEP next fall.
The Cavaliers of Chillicothe were lead by high wire act Malik London/6-foot-8/2012/PF and his 16 points/14 rebounds added along with his wide array of tips, challenges, contests and blocks at and around the rim. London would protect the cup all night by sending more mail than UPS. London threw deep outlet passes and even tipped in a few misses around the cup. UTEP signee and 6-foot-6/2011/SG Jalen Ragland finished with 20 points on numerous finishes around the cup and a handful of pull-up jumpers. Ragland also knocked down 3 deep balls and back-to-back long balls during a stretch in the 3rd quarter. Sophomore, 6-foot-2/Guard Zach Johnson showed impressive vision in traffic creating at the rim getting London and Ragland shots when the defense stepped up. Johnson also displayed breakdown moves getting into the lane and created his own shots. The 2013 prospect finished off UCLA cuts and give-and-go touches around the cup for a total of 8 points and 3 assists.
Springfield was lead by Junior, southpaw Brantley Davis and his 15 points. Davis was able to make shots off the catch from beyond the arch or with floaters in the lane. Senior, 6-foot-3/WF Byron Thompson finished the game with 8 points and 8 rebounds on the day.
Our Savior (NY) 67 Kettering Alter (OH) 50
Our Savior was lead by 6-foot-9/2012/PF Christopher Obekpa and his 19 points and 11 rebounds. Obekpa who hails from Nigeria runs the floor like a deer and is a Windex man on the glass. He has only been in the states since the fall, but the big man shows a Hemmi for a motor and a mountain of upside. The only other member in double figures was 6-foot-2/2012/G Nick Lewis, who hails from Canada, as the Canadian dropped 15 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists on the day. St. John’s commit Jevon Thomas went for 7 points and 3 rebounds. Our Savior shot 75% from the foul line and out-rebounded the Alter Knights 41-30.
Kettering Alter was lead by 6-foot/2013/SG Jaaron Simmons and his 19 points. Simmons was 6-of-15 from the field and 6-of-12 from the foul line.
Huntington Prep (WV) 72 Cincinnati Withrow (OH) 51
The Express from Huntington would use a 7-foot-4/2012/Center from Canada to control the lane, as Sim Bhullar snatched 15 rebounds, scored 13 points and sent 8 shots back home. Bhullar used his size well to bury smaller defenders in the lane and use his length for tip-ins and offensive put-backs. Huntington was lead by 5-foot-8/2011/PG Charles Lee’s 15 points, who has already signed with Cleveland State. Lee went 5-of-6 from the bonus line. 6-foot-9/2012/SF Stefan Jankovic chipped in 11 points and 4 rebounds, while only attempting 5 field goals. Jankovic is a hybrid big that likes faces up and stepping out to 21 feet. Prep would find 6 more players reaching the scoring column, but no else reached double figures.
Withrow was lead by 6-foot-5/2011/SG Aaron Thomas and his 24 points. Thomas also was a perfect 10-of-10 from the stripe. Thomas shot 5-of-19 from the field, but was 4-of-8 from the field. Thomas has signed with Florida State. 6-foot-5/2011/SF Carl Porter also reached double figures scoring 14 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. Super Sophomore, 6-foot-7/PF Devin Williams finished with 7 points and 7 rebounds, as the man-child received limited touches on 18 minutes of action. Senior, 6-foot-2/guard Kevin Jones added 7 points and 6 rebounds of his own.
Hamilton Southeastern (IN) 71 vs. Cincinnati Taft (OH) 70
The Royals of Southeastern would use a Triple-headed attack of Gary Harris, Jacobby Bledsoe and Zak Irvin to spearhead the Senators of Taft just enough to sneak by on Saturday night. 6-foot-5/2012/SF Gary Harris would lead all scorers pumping in 26 points on 8/17 from the field and 10-of-10 at the line. Harris displayed numerous elite level athletic plays and a slash game at the rim. Irvin, a 6-foot-6/2013/Sf played a solid game scoring 16 points and going 8-of-13 from the field. Bledsoe, a 5-foot-10/PG added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. 6-foot-7/2011/PF Randy Gregory packed his lunch bucket at went for 7 rebounds and an impressive 1-handed tip-in.
Taft was lead by 6-foot-4/2011/WG Chris Lowe, as the southpaw senior went off for 21 points on 4-of-5 from deep and 5-of-5 from the line. Jalen Lowe, the brother of Chris, went for 15 points on 3-of-6 from beyond the arch and 6-of-11 from the field. Taft’s workhorse, 6-foot-5/2012/PF Adolphus Washington scored 16 points on 7-of-8 from the field and pulled down 5 rebounds in 23 minutes of action.
Meadowdale (OH) 79 Perspectives Charter (IL) 69
Anytime you can find Kentucky CEO John Calapari in the stands you know there is a big time player in the gym, well fans that player was Anthony Davis. Davis who has signed with the UK Wildcats would not disappoint his future coach, as the 6-foot-10/2011/SF went off for 32 points, 18 rebounds and 6 blocks. Davis who get’s compared to the likes of Kevin Durant, Marcus Camby, Pervis Ellison and many others is starting to create his own identity across the Big Blue Nation.
Although Davis was the star attraction, Dayton Meadowdale would win the game, lead by 6-foot-5/2011/SF Richard Weaver’s 23 points and 7 rebounds. Junior, guard, Nick Thornton would add 20 points of his own to help the Lions pull out the victory.
Garfield Heights (OH) 50 Trotwood-Madison (OH) 49
Garfield Heights would find themselves in a rushed situation on Saturday night, as the Bulldogs bus broke down on the 4-hour ride down, as the team from greater Cleveland stepped into Trent Arena with 30 minutes until tip-off. Garfield would start out cold and slow, but use a 18-9 4th quarter to prevail onto victory and a 10-0 regular season record. Garfield was lead by Penn State signee, 6-foot-2/2011/SG Trey Lewis’ 16 points on 4-of-17 from the field. 6-foot-6/2011/PF Mike McQueen showed an efficient game going for 11 points and snatching 10 rebounds. Star Watch Sophomore, Tony Farmer ended the game with 9 rebounds and 6 total points.
Trotwood was lead by 6-foot-1/2012/Guard Andre Yates and his 22 points on 8-of-15 from the field and 2-of-3 from the deep line. Yates was impressive stretches as the southpaw used his size and ability to attack and create scoring plays. 6-foot-4/2013/SF JaMar Hammonds went for 10 points on 4-of-6 from the field. |

Withrow 51 Mason 46: The Tigers out-rebounded Mason by 22 en route to the win in which they initially trailed 12-0. Withrow looked to have control of the game until 5 quick points from Mason left the score at 33-32 Withrow entering the fourth. The fourth quarter was all Withrow however as their switch from a laid back zone to a pressuring defense changed the game. Aaron Thomas and Carl Porter were excellent tonight for Withrow. Thomas scored 18 while Porter totaled 20 points, 7 boards, 5 blocks, and 3 steals. Devin Williams added 6 points and 13 rebounds for Withrow. Mason got 14 points from Mike Van Kleinnen, 12 from JD Sprague, and Ethan King added 7 points and 7 dimes.

LaSalle 72 Aiken 56: The Lancers blew the game wide open in the second half thanks to their signature pressure defense and fast paced offense. Brandon Neel was unstoppable tonight, he scored 24 points, grabbed 5 boards, and had 5 assists. Josh Lemons scored 16 points for LaSalle while Ryan Fleming and Trey Casey each added 12. Aiken was led by Austin Grimes who scored 17 points, Keron Hicks scored 12, Femi Thompson 10, and Landen Gaulden 9. |

I live near Withrow. Maybe I'll print out a 1,000 copies of the UCLA expose from a few months back and litter the school with them the day he comes. |
