Do you have a pic of Hakim? I'm trying to figure out if he lifts weights at my GOLDS gym...kid looks 30...but I overheard him saying he is graduating this year...not sure but he always wears a Withrow sweatshirt and is about 6-6...you know "6-8."

Actually, I think that Hakim has moved on to Aiken this year with his coach, Steve Gentry.

CC and Jermaine were asking about him and watching him at the team shootout last saturday. My team played against him and he seemed to be decent, nothing spectacular, but it was 9 in the morning, and my team wasn't all that stellar at that point either. I think that the 6'8" listing is a little stretch, and he definitely has to gain some weight to be able to bang a little more.

regarding Hacko...here are some recruiting evaluations:

prephoopsonline:
Height: 6-8, Weight: 215 lbs.
Scouting Report:
Quote:
A long, athletic 4 man who can really block shots. Needs to be more consistent with his effort.
Feb 2006: Has grown two inches to 6'8 from 2004-2006.

JUNE 2006: This long athletic PF prospect didn't score as much as he usually does, but when he did score it was on lay ups, put backs, tip ins or dunks. He was a factor in the paint blocking shots. Solid mid major could go higher if he has a great summer. We really like his upside.
April 2006:
Quote:
Hakim McCullar is a forward at Cincinnati Withrow that will soon be winding up his junior season. Lets go straight to his numbers – 11 ppg and 5 rpg with an amazing 79% shooting percentage according to the Cincinnati Enquirer website. He has what the college coaches like in their PF’s nowadays and that is ‘length’. His long arms will get rebounds other players wont. His quick hops also provide the ability for him to get second chance rebounds. McCullar will be running with Ozie Davis’ always strong Queen City Prophets program this spring. Since its been determined he has the length and springs, how about his weight of 215 pounds? "Colleges I’ve spoken to want me to add about 30 pounds because they said they want me to play the four spot.” With that in mind, we asked what has been his focus and he responded “peanut butter and jelly, school and weights.” Sounds like a plan. He has been contacted by a nix of schools, both mid and high major. “Miami, Ball State, Missouri, South Florida. . . .couple more, but right now I’m undecided.” More immediate concerns are on McCullar’s mind for now. There is a possible coaching change in the works at Withrow and we wondered how it concerned McCullar. He admitted it bothers him. “It does, but we’ll wait and see what happens.” Plus there is one other matter approaching soon. “I take the ACT on June 10th.” When coupling a good ACT score with his 2.7 GPA, this strong and still growing forward should do well for Withrow next year.

April 2006:
Quote:
We saw McCullar once during the season when Withrow went up against a buzzsaw Woodward team that was on a mission. He had a tough game that night, but you would have never known it by one game this weekend. McCullar hit numerous mid-range jump shots in the game against CBC and showed a baby hook and a fallaway that impressed. McCullar is long and even lanky at 215 pounds, has very good footwork and can swat the shot of a penetrating guard with ease. Uses his lean body and quick hops to score in the paint.
