Nice, I know Harris has been a top target for quite some time now

Is the staff looking at any JUCO players? I realize that Moore and Washington help balance the graduating years a bit, but recruiting 4 or 5 players as freshman still keeps things skewed down the line.

Nick, I know this may be asking a lot, but could you maybe highlight the guys above in green or something that have official visits scheduled at Miami?

killgas---I bet at least 1 of 5 (now 4 with Mills commit) scholarships will be saved for another 5th year transfer --- a big.

Top 3! 3 star ranking from ESPN

Quote:
@VerbalCommits
2014 American Heritage (FL) C Drake LaMont has cut his list to Ball State, Miami (OH), & W. Michigan. @Drake_LaMont

which got this response from Isaiah Omoregie, who we are also recruiting

Verbal Commits has been a really good tracking tool. Noticed that a few of the guards we offered have been down graded to interest only, including the following:

Braxton Bonds
Evan Bailey
Jalen Hudson (not surprising since he's been getting a lot of HM offers)
Grant Benzinger (interesting since he was planning on visiting)
Jeremie Tyler

I imagine its a combination of our back court being quite full for the next 3 years, and the staff focusing on the front court

Re: Shawn O'Connell

Quote:
He is eager to get up to Miami (Oh) and talk with Coach Cooper about how he and, recent commit, Roderick Mills will fit together, ‘This weekend, on my visit, I will really get a feel for where I would fit into their program.’
A skilled four man, OConnell will hit you for a 3 or bang with you in the post. He rebounds well, can put the ball on the floor, and is not adverse to hard work. Not only skilled on the court, someone will be getting a great kid.

Removed from the list:

6-1 PG Braxton Bonds (Tenn) [offers: LSU, Radford, and MTSU] - no longer has a Miami offer
6-6 2G Evan Bailey (Massillon) [offers: Cornell, Princeton, Kent, Toledo, Charleston, Duquesne] - no longer has a Miami offer
6-4 2G Jalen Hudson (Akron) [offers: Akron, Kent, Charleston, Robert Morris, Dayton, WKU, Richmond, Tulane, Virginia, Arkansas] - no longer has a Miami offer

certainly a good pick up for Missouri State.

Although Kendrix was technically still on the offer list, I believe that the commitment of ZM put an end to the active recruitment of all other 2G's with the exception of Indianapolis 2G Jeremie Tyler who is scheduled to make an official visit in September.

Other than Tyler, gotta believe Miami is looking for BIGS.

In fact, looking at the projected roster starting in 2014, one has to be pretty happy with the stable of guards at Miami, at least on paper:

JR PG Eric Washington
JR CG Willie Moore (or Soph if he has to sit out 2013)
JR 2G Geovonie McKnight
JR 2G Reggie Johnson
SO CG Jaryd Eustace
FR CG Zach McCormick

I am always interested on how this decision is made, but Verbal commits has us no longer offering the following:
PG PJ Thompson
SG Jeff Thomas
SG Jake Allsmiller
SF Rashaun Richardson
PF Shane Hall
PF Isaiah Omoregie
PF Reginald Kissoonlal
PF Paul Friendshuh

And have added an offer to Javon Bess Columbus, OH Lincoln HS

I have a friend who used to run a service like this for college women's hoops. He just kept calling the girls and some assistant coachs and got his information from them.
