i knew i had read this somewhere, but this should be correct as we've now played through all the clusters (06- NMU LSSU, 05-ND BGSU, 04-WMU FSU, 03-UM MSU, 02-UAF UNO), so unless they are reshuffled one would assume that we would start over with uaf/uno |

this thread has definitely inspired me to strongly consider it next year. will have to look at the schedule when it's available and think about it. i really want to do an nhl/nw canada tour - calgary, edmonton, vancouver so maybe i could combine it. _________________ http://redskinwarriors.com |

It is 33 below in Fairbanks as I type. This is at 1:00p.m their time. We, The Six, were lucky when it comes to temperature. Looks like a return to "Super Winter". Start making plans for next year. This was a great trip. _________________ Love, honor and run the ball well |

I WILL be going next year if the schedule works out that we are there. Plus, Alaska will be the toughest state to mark off on my "Visit all 50 states" list.....so I kill 2 birds so to speak! _________________ "I believe in the love that you gave me

For those who are considering a trip to Fairbanks next year you will NOT regret it. I am planning on going back next year. In fact I joined the Alaska Airlines mileage club (I earned nearly 7,000 miles on this recent trip) and hopefully will fly for free next year (20K miles for a free ticket). You also earn miles if you fly one of their partners, which includes American, Delta, NWA, and Continential. Sign up for their credit card and earn miles that way too.
No, I am not an employee of Alaska Airlines. |

I just learned that the furthest north Denny's in the entire world is in Fairbanks. If nothing else, go just to eat there! _________________ "Psycho was low on talent. Psycho was low on athleticism. Psycho can play on my team any day. Psycho has the biggest heart of any player I have seen."

Now that you have stirred up this thread again...WHO'S PLANNING ON A TRIP TO ALASKA ON JANUARY 25-26?
Miles are building up for me, so a trip is 50/50 right now. I'll be doing the needed convincing of Beefiance over the next few months. |

Beef, I'm 64/36 right now. I'll know for sure come Sept/Oct. Most of us spent 4 days in Fairbanks and we all thought that was too short. If I go again it will be at least 6 days.
For others considering the trip - somewhere in this thread I gave a break-down of my expenses (e.g., airfare, hotel, etc.). It's not as pricey as you think. |

I'm 75/25 right now. I hope to convince my current roommate to come along--he can be next year's "friend of a Miami fan." _________________ "Psycho was low on talent. Psycho was low on athleticism. Psycho can play on my team any day. Psycho has the biggest heart of any player I have seen."

It would be unlikely that I would make the trip two consecutive years. My wife and I are going to Alaska for three weeks this summer. Maybe--maybe I can convince her to go back in the winter(she is retiring this year). Perhaps she will be influenced by the people she meets in Boulder for the Colorado game or at one of the Miami home games.
Craig (friend of a Miami fan) and his wife are going to Australia/South Pacific for around six weeks this fall, so I know he is not going on another outing for awhile. He did go to Ypsi with me yesterday. _________________ Love, honor and run the ball well |

Unfortunately, I'm probably at 25% yes -75% no right now.
But if I do go, I want Kiska the Amazing Dog with us! _________________ "You haven't lived until you've closed down the I-Bar at 4 A.M. AST." - thechuck_2112

I want Kiska with me while I fish this summer. I have a feeling that the streams we were going by on Chena Hot Springs Road are the spots the conservation guy was talking up to me. At least I will not have to worry about stepping out of the truck to take a photo and sinking to my waist in snow.
Anyone who can make this trip should by all means go--it was great (no bears in the winter) _________________ Love, honor and run the ball well |

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you. It is presently 3 degrees in Fairbanks--I'm glad MuFan brought back this post. Great memories abound, including lessons on choosing a good bourbon.

Has anyone been watching Alaska Week on Discovery? Sweet stuff.
Also, I may have an in at future employment with skin66's son's former boss. (Or at least a friend in the right place who can guarantee my resume would get looked at instead of thrown in the circular file.) Cool stuff! _________________ "Psycho was low on talent.
