Simpson leaves the game with 1 out in the 7th after giving up back to back singles with bases loaded. Va Tech 5-0.

Miami goes down in order in the bottom of the 7th and loses 6-0.

Redhawks will play again tonight at 6:00 pm(?) vs. the UT-UAB winner.

This really sucks.

Couldn't avenge the loss earlier in the season.

Looks like we'll be playing Tennessee again.

8-0 now. If Miami doesn't score, it's game.

Miami's D was a little suspect but the hits UT got were bloops and bouncers. Tough to get to. 8-0 final in 6.

Stupid question- I know Simpson is good, but do we have any other pitchers? The Tigers don't send Justin Verlander out there every day, why does our ace pitch every game?

It's the one reason I never got into watching a lot of softball. It feels like most are one person teams. The other 8 in the field don't matter as much. But still, great season for Miami. Simpson showed she's the real deal.

And it takes it's toll on that one person (pitcher), too as she can get fatigued, especially playing 3 games like Simpson has had to do but she did show she's the real deal as was said. Toward the end of the game she was really digging deep for those pitches and her last strike out was a thing of beauty. Even the Vols fans around us were complimenting her on her ability and her toughness.

Throwing underhand is a natural motion so you don't strain your arm as much.

It was fun reading through all the postseason softball threads today. Being out in Vegas for a month, I was completely out of contact with Miami sports and did not realize until today that we won the MAC and beat #5 Tennessee on their home field in the first NCAA game. Great year!
