| Quote: | | Levin, a senior who averaged 19 points and nine rebounds per game over the winter season, hauled down 12 rebounds and fellow OPRF senior Ka'Darryl Bell (Bradley University) scored 14 points while pocketing six steals to help lead the Westside squad to a victory over the Southside squad in the Norm Van Lier United Hoops Classic All-Star game at the University of Chicago recently. |
as of April, it looked like he was heading to PG at prep school (says "he's a young 17" as of this spring):

another article on him: http://yourseason.suntimes.com/schools/york/boys_basketball/10650790-393/boys-basketball-gabe-levin-oak-park-derail-york.html
| Quote: | Oak Park-River Forest senior Gabe Levin is having a season that high school basketball players dream about.
This time last year he was a complete unknown. Then, as his teammate Jakari Cammon says, ‘‘He just woke up one morning and became a beast.’’
Levin led the Huskies to a 57-35 win over York on Tuesday, ending the Dukes’ 13-game win streak and securing the West Suburban Silver title for Oak Park.
Levin, a 6-foot-7 forward, scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds (York only had 19 boards as a team). His rise wasn’t as instantaneous as Cammon hinted at. Still, it came with plenty of work all summer long.
‘‘He was there early and staying late and just worked so hard at it,’’ Cammon said. ‘‘He definitely deserves it. He wasn’t anything like this last year or even in the summer. Then all of a sudden it was just there.’’ |

Wonder if he has grown in the last year? Some sites list him as 6'4". Seems to have exploded over the past year. Plays for a good academic school, OPRF. _________________ "The Blues had a baby and they named it Rock and Roll!!"

Miami only has 2 SF's on the roster---both Juniors-- Bill Edwards and Jon Harris.
There is a ton of potential playing time for an incoming player at this position---especially considering that nobody knows which Bill Edwards will be on the roster ---the one that showed up big time vs Dayton or the one that disappeared vs Xavier. _________________ Mollautt to Big A HG: "Dude, you need to bow down and kiss our rings. I agree Nick. This is a great opportunity to come in and get some significant playing time right away. I like how Levin seems to have the versatility to play inside or out. Watch the videos I have posted. He is very athletic which would seem to suit Coach Cooper's style as well. _________________ "The Blues had a baby and they named it Rock and Roll!!"
