According to Twitter, Ryan Hartman has decided to pursue the OHL and will be joining the Plymouth Whalers next year.

Not surprising I suppose. He had another year of high school and was done with the USNTDP, but would have had to play a year in the USHL. Not saying I think is was the right move, but I understand it. He should be drafted in the top 2 rounds next year. Good luck to him -- he seems like a good kid. |

That sucks but at least he made his decision over a year before he was supposed to come in.
Kind of odd he's making this decision now. At this point I would think he would've waited until the draft and taken his drafting team's position on where he should play under advisement.
Or maybe he already has a good idea who's taking him.

I had a bad feeling he'd be heading north of the border instead of in Oxford. But At least he didn't drop his commitment two months before he was due to begin classes.

Yeah, his birthday is Sept. 30, and I believe the draft eligibility cutoff is Sept. 15. Good call on that.
