Miami has offered Rivals 4 Star QB Brogan Roback from St Johns Toledo.

The 6'4 185lb. drop back passer is currently ranked as the #11 quarterback in the country but only boasts offers from BG, OU, Toledo and Miami. IU and Wisconsin are also taking deep looks at him.

Why is it the players with the coolest names are always the highest rated? Wink

It's true.

Last year's #1 was Gunner Kiel. How does a guy with that name not play quarterback?

Brogan would be a great pick up for Miami. Our selling points for him would be the proximity to home, the academics, the ability to start after a redshirt year and the fact that we'll at that time have 2 out of our last 5 QBs in the NFL.

"2 out of our last 5 QBs in the NFL."

And two others between them played professional football.

Good call - Betts was a backup with the Colts for a few years and Raudabaugh starts in the AFL.

When I first saw the name I thought either romance novel lead, or reality tv stud. I suppose we could offer the latter given Miami's seeming in with reality tv shows.

He looks a little like Dysert! About same size in high school as well. Miami could be a very good situation for him with ZD graduating after this year.

Absolutely killed it at this weekend's Elite 11 camp in New York.

He'll be hearing from the big dogs soon so hopefully Miami has already built strong inroads.

We have.

Found some other videos of him on YouTube. He's in pretty solid shape for a QB.

Biggest issues I saw - holds the ball away from body very precariously when scrambling, and something about the end of his release on the passes more than 15 yards over the middle troubled me but I couldn't put a finger on it. Almost as if he gives up on technique in an effort to throw a ball deeper.

Nothing that couldn't be corrected once he got here, to say the least. Honestly, just show him videos of our offense now (that don't involve ZD running for his life) and he'll probably say "Hey, that wouldn't be a huge adjustment for me!"

Wanna graduate early and come to Oxford in January to learn the offense? Just sayin' Wink

I know a lot of big schools will start going after him, but if we start (or continue) to go after him hard, then we could land him. Think about it from his prospective: Miami University develops quarterbacks. There is no argument against that. Add in that Miami is a a phenomenal academic school, the football program has a lengthy and impressive tradition, Miami is annually rated (usually in the top 5-10) as having the hottest girls of any school in the country, Oxford is an idyllic town, and Brogan could be a 4-year starter... No brainer if I was him. I'd pull the trigger in a heartbeat over those b.s. BCS schools. If Brogan wants his best shot at the NFL AND life... he enrolls at the sleeping giant that is Miami University.

Would still be awesome if we somehow had two QB openings to keep going after Brogan

If he is that good, what in the hell is he doing verballing to EMU? With a decision like that, it's possible he doesn't have the mental abilities to matriculate at an academic school like Miami.

I've asked around about this guy and can't get a straight answer as to why he never got the big offers. His tape is unreal. He's dominated big camps.

A NW Ohio coach told me he was as impressive as a young QB from Ada that we're all familiar with.

Crazy stuff.

Maybe he wants to play right away and close to home and EMU offers those things.

His sister is on the volleyball team at EMU, so I'm sure that played a role.

Committed to a MAC school. He should be down to a 3 star (at best) in short order
