Winds? They're cancelling classes for winds? OK, this is complete and utter bull. Have class on GBD, but a little breeze and they want to run for Spring Break. What total crap.
If classes are cancelled, is the basketball game still on? _________________

Well no, not the winds per se, but the potential for extremely severe weather. Tornado's have already erupted across southern Indiana and all weather indices point to a potential deadly outbreak of severe weather this afternoon and evening. |

Umm, according to the NWS,
"A tornado watch is in effect for the entire region until 9 p.m., and the National Weather Service has termed it a "particularly dangerous situation," a tag applied when there is an enhanced risk of very severe and life-threatening weather."

Hope that makes you feel a little better. haven't heard of anything related to tonight's game, but if I do I'll post it immediately. |

And a tag only applied to SW Ohio ONCE in the last 10-years. These aren't your run of the mill spring severe storms... |

Didn't get as bad here in n. Butler Co. as it did south, you'll be seeing footage of Louisville if you haven't already; northern Ky. got pummeled and they say severe damage along the Ohio river.
Probably was precautionary for Miami to let students get a head start out of town before the storms hit. Branch campuses also dismissed early as did Mt. St. Joe and Xavier, and many school events and games are cancelled for tonight.
Apparently Indiana north of here towards the Dayton area got hit pretty hard too. Reports of houses flattened and branches ripped off trees. Has been sunny for awhile here but another small storm heading here from Indiana, then they're saying winds as the front goes thru. |

Sounds like both Oxford and Cincinnati were spared.
I was going to cover prep basketball in Anderson County, Ky. (a little west northwest of Louisville) and would've driven right through the Dry Ridge-Crittenden area that got pummeled when it happened.
For once I'm glad everything was called off. _________________ "I'm a Coyote now, I hate the Red Wings" -- Andy Miele.
