Dude plays with a mean streak and has the size to go with it. Wonder if there's any chance he bulks up and moves to DE?

Love the style--great bow tie/sweater! Also, is surprisingly and deceptively quick. Gets off the snap lightning quick. Maybe can eventually bulk up to hybrid LB/DE.

I'm no Mr. Blackwell, but we certainly do recruit some snappy dressers.

Pleased to make in-roads at Miller Grove HS.
They are an up and coming power in the Atlanta area (as evidenced by the young man with the Alabama hat) and it would be nice to get on the good side of their coaching staff.

Miami getting sly with those lids....someone is paying attention or at least thinking....don't know that could be a new line of hats but still contrasting with the traditional Alabama hat...pretty cool.

This has been a common conversation among my friends lately. The hats on J'Terius and David DeLeon were different from any collection I've ever seen and I like it.

Perception is a big deal. How do crap teams like Florida State and osu get top 10 recruiting classes? The perception that they are powerhouses that give you a shot at the NFL...plus they give you cool gear (tattoos included?). While cool hats aren't going to win us any games or recruiting battles, an attention to the little stuff can go a long way.

Dude, that isnt perception at schools like OSU and FSU...they do give you a shot at the NFL, it's in the numbers and you can't deny that

Are you saying that if those NFL players from tOSU and FSU had originally signed with a MAC team they wouldn't be NFL players today?

All you haev to do is go down an NFL roster, point out the many names that didn't go to powerhouse programs, and rest your case. I'm sure all mid-major coaches do this.

Some of them, sure...a lot of players at the big programs get noticed because of teammates and get invited to workouts. At smaller programs, you have to stand out big time to get that call. So bigger time programs it is easier to be noticed

Take a look at Super Bowl rosters from this year by conference...the MAC is tied for 6th, with all BCS conferences ahead of us

Also, 84 players from BCS programs, 22 from non-bcs

Do you believe those roster percentages are simply due to the schools those players signed with and not the talent and skill levels of the players? Of course the BCS schools are going to put more players into the NFL. They sign the best talent coming out of high school, but that doesn't preclude a talented player from a non-BCS school from making a NFL roster.

Point is, the NFL is going to find NFL talent regardless of where one goes to school, which is HighStreetBlues' original point.... one doesn't have to sign with a BCS school in order to get into the NFL.

As one might say in statistics..... there might be a correlation, but that correlation should not be viewed as causation.

Miami has two TE's currently in the NFL that were minimal contributors at a MAC school during probably it's worst stretch of football in a couple decades. If you're good enough, NFL teams will find you and at least give you a shot.

"correlation should not be viewed as causation" I like that, not the least because it is true. Can I use it?
