Outstanding kicker that has drawn interest from Kentucky, Georgia and South Carolina. Won state title at Byrnes, SC. Playing with Miami commits David DeLeon, Wesley Scott, and Daquan Lucas in next week's Shrine Bowl.
Struggled with kick offs at last spring's specialist camps and saw his stock drop, but rebounded to have a touchback rate around 75% this season and a PAT conversion rate over 90%.
A little outdated:

Video here shows his kick off strength and 54 yarder:

Scout interview coming soon. |

Doesn't sound like he understands the benefits of a MU education; nor, the latest polls inre attractiveness of the coeds. (ref adjoining thread)

Hopefully, he'll be a little more amped after he actually gets on campus and sees what we have to offer.
Give me:
• a punter that consistently hits 45 yard-plus punts
• a place kicker that is nearly automatic from 40 yards or less and
• a kicker that puts the ball in the endzone 50% of the time or more
If you have those things it does a few things for you:
1) It lets you stay in games where the other team has more talent
2) Lets you dominate teams where you have more talent (eliminates the punchers chance)
3) Gives you the advantage in the games where it's close
— probably good for three wins a year, and we've only had one of the three at any one time for about a decade. _________________ Season ticket holder football and hockey since 1995

ESPN Profile has him rated as a ** player with a rating of "74". Here is the scouting report:
| Quote: | | Kaleb has a tremendous high school resume. He made 18 field goals as junior and is a proven kicker. Kaleb is a D1 field goal kicker. The ball explodes off his foot and he gets great height on field goals. He has a motion that is repeatable and very coordinated. Kaleb has shown well at multiple Kohl's events and plays for a traditional football power in South Carolina. He does need to add more hang-time and distance on his kickoffs to match were his field goals are at. Kaleb won the Kohl's Southern Showcase Camp with a wind-aided 63 yd field goal and is a guy who should be able to handle the big-stage in college. |

I think Kaleb is worth a scholarship.
Even if he doesn't see the field for a couple of years, the competition in practice will push Mason K - who I think has all the physical tools, but needs a mental makeover. |

| Kid looks like he could start from day 1. After watching last years special teams I'm all for using a scholly on another kicker. Now we just need to find a punter. |

Well...if he really ends up wanting to be here, this is excellent news. I hope he doesnt consider us his backup that he had to choose _________________ "Statistics are for losers. The only numbers that matter are the final score."

Good news, Spanks.

As for Kaleb-welcome aboard! And I would completely open up the competition for this position between Kaleb and Mason-the job should go to whoever earns it. _________________ "The Blues had a baby and they named it Rock and Roll!!"

| Good get by the staff - I agree that an open competition should drive better results. The rather large group of football recruits sat just down below us at the bball game. We spotted the big guy from Wyoming - I'm really hoping that Coach Tread lands him - we really need another OL (or 2) in this class. |

Which is interesting...SC isn't exactly a hotbed for top fball recruits. But I guess it's a motherlode of MAC talent. |

I actually thought their recruits per population ratio was high. I think a key about South Carolina is that they have 2 BCS teams but no other 1-A programs, so there is likely lots of good talent there without all the competition from other nonBCs teams. _________________ Miami University...17 NCAA tournament appearances...4 Sweet 16's. |
