Ballad of the unhatched chicken! It's a sure crowd pleaser and screams college, santa claus and football.

I thought we had to wait at least six months between arguments about the band. _________________ "Psycho was low on talent. Psycho was low on athleticism. Psycho can play on my team any day. Psycho has the biggest heart of any player I have seen."

it's not the first time, they went in 2003 too - may be some indication that the band is actually better than anyone around here gives it credit for. _________________ “If you don't have goals, you are just wandering around.” - Ryan Jones |

| Hope it isn't too cold. I hated doing parades in the cold. My reed always froze to the mouthpiece. |

| Thank God Santa is introduced at the end of the parade and not in the third quarter. |

I don't care how good our band is. I just want them to play well-timed and exciting music during football and basketball games. |

Actually whenever I've seen the band away from Yager it's always been better and far more energetic. _________________ Season ticket holder football and hockey since 1995

Agreed. They are very good musically, much like a concert band which is the comparison I made during the last argument. They are not correctly utilized for football. That is mostly not the fault of the students. They are perfect for something like this and will kill whatever holiday music they decide to bring out. Congrats bandos! |

| And if you have a few extra bucks lying around, send them along to help out with expenses. You can donate online at the band's website and I think you can send something in to Miami's general address and designate it for the band. |

I would be far more inclined to donate money to send them to an actual away football game. _________________ Miami University...17 NCAA tournament appearances...4 Sweet 16's. |

99% of the complaints on this board about the band have had nothing to do with their musical talent. I know nothing about that sort of thing, but I can accept that they are a musically respected group.
What I do know is that I have been to football games at dozens of college campuses and seen how central most bands are to the football experience. The Miami band seems to be a classical marching band that just happens to attend football games. |

This is completely a fair statement. The band gets their due in the area they want their due. But when it comes to what the majority of the band doesn't care about (football), they are torn apart. |

I like cake. But not chocolate cake. I also don't like chocolate ice cream, but I like candy bars. Not sure why that is. _________________ "Psycho was low on talent. Psycho was low on athleticism. Psycho can play on my team any day. Psycho has the biggest heart of any player I have seen."
