Kate Voegele topped the chart in the Pop Song Division of the USA Songwriting Competion becoming the youngest to ever do so.

She has sung the National Anthem at Madison Square Garden and performed with the likes of Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp (at least those are names I recognize).

She'll be appearing in Austin, Texas, on March 16.

I was there when she sung at the Garden with another friend from Miami that lives in NY.

When we heard her announced we both looked at each other and said
"I know that name" before thinking and making the connection.

Along with being a good song writer she also has a pretty good voice. Her voice did crack during the national anthem at the Garden, but I think that was probably just a case of being 18 and having to sing in front of 20,000 Knick fans (though NY did win that night). You could definitely tell she had some pipes.

I have been asked to review all of yanksalex's posts. I am starting with this one.

In about 30 days, following a lengthy investigation, I will move onto the next post. I expect this investigation to be complete in about 32 years.

Kate V. will forever be the one that got away for poor Alex.

Most impressive is Eddie going into the wayback machine for a "Mike" post.
I think the only thing that trumps that would be a "craig" post. Shocked

Oddly enough, there's actually one Craig post still around.

Wow, discussion of Joe Coniglio and Dave DiFranco as recruits. I feel really old all of a sudden.

His cardinal sin was insisting on talking about religion and politics repeatedly. And for posting that he was praying those who disagreed with his religious or political positions would be injured or die. Never once did he apologize or retract one of those statements. IIRC, he was also banned from a Texas Christian board or two (he was a Horned Frogs fan) and NCAAbbs for the same behavior.

Also, he often mused about how women being allowed to be sports reporters is terrible not because women don't do a good job (certainly a questionable opinion in its own respect), but because women shouldn't be allowed to work outside the home period, since (1) women are fragile and (2) God commands it.

Also, when he went to college football games, he took creepy telephoto-lens pictures of the cheerleaders to post online, and notably few pictures of, well, the football.
