Very much like this offer. If we could land Tadlock along with Brigham we would have nice depth in the frontcourt for next year. Add in verbal Brian Sullivan and I would be very happy with this class. Hopefully Tadlock will want to head to Ohio!

ESPN Scouts Inc., Grade - 77 (*)
ESPN Evaluation: "Tadlock's mobility and agility are his strengths as a post player. Jared can score in the post when he is able to get to his left shoulder. He needs to develop a counter move in the post and a best jump on his move when scoring in the post. Jared has a shooting touch to the high post area and has a shooting technique good enough that he could eventually, consistently knock down the trail jump shot from 19 feet. He is going to have to add weight and strength to the lower half of his body to succeed at the college level."

Great story! Anybody besides me really want to see this guy added to our 2011 class alongside Brian Sullivan? I think he would be a great addition and fill a need with the graduation of Winbush and Ballard after this season. Terrific sounding kid and prospect.

He sounds like an intelligent 6-10 kid with some athletic ability but with a lot of work and development to do before he will have the stength and weight and toughness to play inside in D-1. Almost all big men we recruiit are in this boat, and it is usually the 4th or 5th year before they are really good. Witness Adam Flethcher in his 4th and 5th years, and we also redshirted LeGarza and McGhee to allow them time to develop. I am not against recruiting this guy, we alway should have one or two big guys working their way up, but I just would doubt that he will be ready to fill the need for inside help next year or probably the following year either.

But this late in the game the "finished" products are all largely committed elsewhere. Besides, I really like Jared's upside.

Yes, usually at this time we would go after a junior college inside player to get someone who could help for next year. Maybe we will get one junior college guy and one true freshman?

=>A little bit. We were texting some during the game. He said he was enjoying the game and was impressed with Mavunga's game.

I will try to get a story out after I talk to him. He is finishing up his official visit today.

Good Lord, I'm 6' 1/2" and 205 and I'm fairly normal sized.
Am I fat? Does this t-shirt make me look fat?

Do we have any updates on this kid? I noticed the Charis Prep team averages over 80 points a game and has scored over 100 five times. Does he play?

=>Yes. As of when I wrote the commit story, he was averaging nearly a double-double (9/9). At Conifer H.S. near Denver, he was the leading scorer for his as a junior last year before leaving for Charis in North Carolina.

Although Tadlock is a senior, he is playing at a prep school. Most, maybe all, of his teammates are high school graduates. Charis Prep plays only other prep schools with high school grads and junior colleges. So Tadlock's competition in practice and games this year is at a much higher level than even a high school kid playing in an elite conference (like the GCL or GMC in SW Ohio).

Charis Prep free story from Scout.com from 2 years ago (before Tadlock):

Charis Prep website reads "National Champions" (website) but I haven't heard much about Tadlock.
