What is the talk of a new coffee shop uptown? Could use something other than a FourBucks in Oxford. _________________ M! clap clapclapclap I! clap clapclapclap A! clap clapclapclap MMmmmmIIiiiiiiAMI! |

| This article has some details about the project. It is slated to go in the new building at the previous location of Church Street Station. Also, these are folks that were previously involved in the A-List bar. |

Is the coffee shop still there that used to be in the spot where the record store was 15-20 years ago?
Yeah, I know I'm dating myself here. _________________ "You haven't lived until you've closed down the I-Bar at 4 A.M. AST." - thechuck_2112

UPDATE: Progress on the combined brewpub/restaurant/bookstore/coffeeshop slated for the first floor of the building formerly known as Church Street Station has come to a screeching halt. D-day and I did some drive-by and nose-against-window reconnaisance last night and noted that, despite signs all over the glass promising that the joint will be opening in early September, "early" has passed and scaffolding, tools, etc. litter the first floor of the place and are gathering dust on top of the dust. Anyone know anything official regarding reasons for the holdup _________________ It's "Miami University," plain and simple! For as long as the wind shall blow! |

Not sure but I can't say that I'm surprised ... seemed an ambitious venture for those involved...
On another note the new bar The Woods (I think- not sure of name) is open on Poplar behind the Coop - definitely a college place with a menu of apps and variously topped hotdogs. I thought this was a great idea to start off with- low overhead- the guy said they would look to expand menu at some point. Big space with pool table etc. and outside tables as well. _________________ Love and Honor

Not sure what makes you think things came to a screeching halt. There were plenty of people working in there when I drove past 30 minutes ago. Perhaps the dust is from construction-related activity. I agree that early September was probably a bit unrealistic, but I can assure you that work is going on, just maybe not at night |

The change is that the basketball program's new sponsor is the new coffee shop! _________________ "Psycho was low on talent. Psycho was low on athleticism. Psycho can play on my team any day. Psycho has the biggest heart of any player I have seen."

Is this a coffee shop based upon the Amsterdam model? _________________ The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated... |

And when it rains that tang top is going to get really sticky. _________________ The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated... |

At least the sticky Tang tops will be the same shade of orange as the Hooters-style shorts. _________________ It's "Miami University," plain and simple! For as long as the wind shall blow! |

I love it when a thread can quickly delve into fun, childish humor. I'm laughing my ass off here reading this thread. _________________ "You haven't lived until you've closed down the I-Bar at 4 A.M. AST." - thechuck_2112
